At the beginning of the March two of our operatives Dale Cryne & Robert Grant both attended the inaugural Layher Advanced Course at Simian’s training centre based in Anglesey.
As the demand for system scaffold keeps on increasing year on year and as a Layher scaffolding provider when the news was released that CITB/CISRS had approved a specific Advanced course for Layher we knew that we had to be involved. This was great news for our scaffolders also as we can now provide support from Apprenticeships all the way to becoming a Layher Advanced Scaffolder.
The course was delivered jointly by Layher & Simian and was a mixture of classroom & on site assessments. The practical assessments included Layher XL Rolling Roof, TG60 Shoring Towers, FW Bridging System, Cantilever Drop lift scaffolds, Public Staircases & Flex beam Scaffolds.

Although we have used a lot of the special components on various jobs before it was interesting building the different scaffolds.
